V16 homologated emergency light

The regulations provided by the DGT guide us on the different devices and updates that we must have up to date to be able to circulate normally. 

This is the case of the car emergency light known as V16 beacon. It has been announced that it will be mandatory from January 2026 according to the official DGT decree. 

What does this mean? Previously emergency triangles were used in the event of a breakdown, now, with the new decree, the well-known triangle will be replaced by the use of V16 beacons. This new device has already been in use since the middle of last year, making it easier to familiarize oneself with it for the future. 

Features of the V16 led beacon

To get to know this device thoroughly, let's describe the features in detail.

Mainly it has 2 modes of use: 

1.- Led lighting function: this function will allow to make use of the beacon as a flashlight. Thus, it will focus the lighting correctly in the space where you are being sufficiently striking for the rest as well. At the same time, you can choose between 2 intensities. It gives off a white light tone of 6000 K temperature.  

2.- Rotating function 360º: this mode of operation is on the axis of the 360º and the tone of light that gives off is yellow. 

How is the V16 beacon used? 

In this case, the car emergency light has a magnet or a hook and you simply have to place it on the roof of the car. 

At the top it has 2 buttons: one for the flashlight function and one for the emergency rotating function. At the bottom is the battery compartment and the magnetic base. It works with 3 AAA batteries and you can also use the included hanger. 

This way, if you find yourself in an accident or need to park the car in an emergency, you already know the device you will need to do it properly.
